Healthliant Ventures and Steadywell Partner to Expand Supportive Care and Advance Care Planning at Tanner Health

SteadywellOS uses AI voice agents and zeroUI technology to help Tanner Health increase its reach to seriously ill patients while extending advance care planning across the Medicare population.

CARROLLTON, GA (Oct. 16, 2025) — Healthliant Ventures, the innovation arm of Tanner Health, today announced a partnership with Steadywell, maker of the SteadywellOS supportive care SaaS platform. The collaboration will allow Tanner Health to significantly expand supportive care services and advance care planning by leveraging Steadywell’s AI voice agents and zeroUI technology.

Currently, fewer than 15% of seriously ill patients in the United States receive consistent supportive follow-up care due to physician time constraints and limited resources. By integrating SteadywellOS, Tanner Health clinicians will be able to reach an estimated three times more patients, while also increasing advance care planning participation among the broader Medicare population.

Unlike other digital health tools, Steadywell’s zeroUI approach requires only a phone call — removing the need for apps or new technology. This makes the platform especially accessible to seniors, who can easily connect with AI voice agents who check in with a simple question: “How are you feeling today?” Patient complaints are escalated directly to Tanner’s care teams, enabling proactive follow-up from a medical professional and improved patient support.

"Tanner Health's medical leadership and staff recognize the tremendous value of supportive care on quality, outcomes and cost, and were seeking an innovative way to scale supportive care across our patient population," said Ben Camp, chief medical officer of Tanner Health. "When patients don't receive supportive care, care gaps increase, resulting in 64% more emergency department visits, 49% more hospitalizations and 16% more hospital deaths. This partnership allows us to bridge those gaps and deliver the proactive care our patients deserve."

Supportive care has been shown to reduce costs by more than $10,000 per patient with serious illness. Advance care planning adds further savings by ensuring treatment aligns with patients’ wishes — helping them receive the proper care at the right time. More importantly, both interventions improve outcomes and enhance quality of life.

"We're thrilled to partner with Healthliant Ventures and Tanner Health to transform how supportive care is delivered," said Josh Kermisch, CEO of Steadywell. "Our AI voice agents eliminate technology barriers, often preventing seniors from accessing digital health solutions. By meeting patients where they are — with a simple phone call — we're making high-quality supportive care accessible to everyone who needs it, regardless of their comfort with technology."

SteadywellOS also expands advanced care planning during Medicare annual wellness visits, ensuring more patients have documented preferences that reflect their values and goals.

“From an operations standpoint, SteadywellOS integrates seamlessly into Tanner’s workflows while extending our reach,” said Tim Raderstorf, DNP, RN, head of clinical operations for Steadywell. “It’s monitoring capabilities help us identify patients who need additional support before conditions worsen, which improves outcomes and resource efficiency.”

Steadywell will begin supporting Tanner Health staff and patients in October.
